Headquartered in Austin, Texas, RWE Clean Energy is the US onshore renewables subsidiary of German energy group RWE AG and, through RWE Americas, employs roughly 2,000 people across the country. RWE Clean Energy operates a renewable energy portfolio of approximately 8 gigawatts of installed onshore wind, solar, and battery storage capacity, making it the fourth-largest renewable energy company and the second-largest solar owner and operator in the United States. RWE is also developing offshore wind projects on both US coasts and has earmarked billions of euros for continued American clean energy investment.
